Where

Located in the Riverland on the banks of Lake Bonney in Barmera, just 2 hours from Adelaide. Operated by qualified and experienced instructors from the Department of Education Water Safety Team. 

When

The Barmera Aquatic Centre operates from the Lake Bonney Yacht Club during term time of the school year.

What

A range of activities are available to students:

Reception-year 5:
Surf Education Program (2 hours)

years 6-12:
Small boat handling, sailing, kayaking, windsurfing, canoeing, knee boarding and water skiing (years 8+).

SACE (Years 10-12):
12 or 18 hour sessions – windsurfing and sailing. 2-3 day creek camping trips – kayaking and canoeing.

Cost

Government Schools:

Reception-Year 5:
Equipment Levy $4 per student, per session.
Instructor Cost: Government Aquatic Allocation can be used to fund the cost of instructor. If allocation has already been used, fee for service is available at $65 per hour, per instructor.

Years 6-12:
Equipment Levy – $21 per student per day. Instructor Cost – Government Aquatic Allocation can be used to fund the cost of instructor. If allocation has already been used, fee for service is available at $65 per hour, per instructor.

SACE (Years 10-12):
Equipment Levy $3.50 per student per hour. Instructor Cost – Government Aquatic Allocation can be used to fund the cost of instructor. If allocation has already been used, fee for service is available at $65 per hour, per instructor.

Non Government Schools:

Reception-Year 5
Equipment Levy: $4 per student per hour
Instructor Cost: $73 per hour per instructor.

Years 6-12:
Equipment Levy: $21 per student per day.
Instructor Cost: $73 per hour per instructor.

SACE (Years 10-12)
Equipment Levy: $3.50 per student per hour.
Instructor Cost: $73 per hour per instructor.

When calculating costs, please speak to Instructor in Charge (details below) for assistance with instructor ratios. For rough calculations please work on 6-8 students per instructor however conditions apply.

Bring


Bathers/shorts, tshirt or rash top, hat, sunscreen, towel, appropriate footwear, relevant medication and a
‘Water Safety Form’ for each student. (Link Below).

Bookings are made through the Barmera Primary School on 8588 2198 or dl.0506.info@schools.sa.edu.au

Once a verbal booking has been made, a Confirmation of Booking will be emailed to the school which will need to be completed and returned prior to arrival.
